High resolution NMR imaging using a high field yokeless permanent magnet.
We measured the homogeneity and stability of the magnetic field of a high field (about 1.04 tesla) yokeless permanent magnet with 40-mm gap for high resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging. Homogeneity was evaluated using a 3-dimensional (3D) lattice phantom and 3D spin-echo imaging sequences. In the central sphere (20-mm diameter), peak-to-peak magnetic field inhomogeneity was abou...
متن کاملAn Analytical Approach towards Passive Ferromagnetic Shimming Design for a High-Resolution NMR Magnet.
This paper presents a warm bore ferromagnetic shimming design for a high resolution NMR magnet based on spherical harmonic coefficient reduction techniques. The passive ferromagnetic shimming along with the active shimming is a critically important step to improve magnetic field homogeneity for an NMR Magnet. Here, the technique is applied to an NMR magnet already designed and built at the MIT'...
متن کاملHigh-resolution NMR-based metabolic detection of microgram biopsies using a 1 mm HRμMAS probe.
A prototype 1 mm High-Resolution micro-Magic Angle Spinning (HRμMAS) probe is described. High quality (1)H NMR spectra were obtained from 490 μg of heterogeneous biospecimens, offering a rich-metabolite profiling. The results demonstrate the potential of HRμMAS as a new NMR analytical tool in metabolomics.
متن کاملStudy of Impregnating Epoxy Resins for High Field Nmr Superconducting Magnets
NMR magnet coils are usually quite long, thick, and tightly wound with thin superconducting wires. The successful vacuum/pressure impregnation of such kind of coils demands the use of epoxy resins with superior properties such as low viscosity, long pot life, and high cracking resistance etc.. In order to find the most appropriate impregnating epoxy resin for the fabrication of high-field NMR m...
متن کاملEnvironmental NMR: High-resolution Magic-angle Spinning
Environmentally significant materials including soils, plant tissues, melanin pigments, and urban surface films possess swollen or swellable constituents that are not studied ideally using either solutionor solid-state NMR. Beginning in the 1970s and accelerating during the past 15 years, high-resolution (HR)-MAS techniques have been developed to study these challenging materials, yielding unpr...
